Institute for IIT-JEE is delighted to apprise you that the competitive Examination, KVPY
Aptitude Test which was held on 05-November- 2017 in an online mode with an objective to
identify the students with the talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their
academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in science, and ensure the
growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country. The question
paper was of MCQ type and divided into 2 parts. The question was asked from Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects. The aptitude test is same for stream SA, SB
, and SX. 46 students are being selected for the 2 nd stage of KVPY with the support of the
Government of India and guidance of the Institute. Based on the cut-off marks, students
were selected for the second stage. It is a national program of fellowship supervised by
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) which grants offers from 1 st year of the graduation up to pre-
Ph.D. level or 5 years(whichever is earlier). Monthly stipend of Rs. 5000/- and annual
contingency of Rs 20,000/- are granted during 1 st year to 3 rd year after which it increases to
a monthly stipend of Rs. 7000/- and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28000/- for next 2 years
by the Department of Science and Technology and Government of India. The students were
competing with the brilliant students all over the country, and in spite of stiff competition,
they did excellently well. On this great achievement, the Directors of the Institute
congratulated the students and their parents for qualifying the STAGE 1. They assured that
students would continue to support such initiatives in future as well. The institute provides all
the opportunities to compete in solving challenging theoretical and experimental science
problems. In the second stage, the candidates need to appear for the Interview where the pre-
selected major scientists of the country will access the students. The shortlisted students will
have the opportunity to glimmer all over the nation and to learn something distinct. This
Interview round is going to be conducted between 15th to 20th February 2018. The board will
test the basic scientific knowledge and innovations among these candidates.
The candidates must bring the given documents at the time of the interview along with the
- Application form and Interview call letter.
- Attested copy of Marks card. (10th Marks card for Stream SA/SX and 12th Marks card for streams)
- Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates issued by the Competent Authority.
- Medical certificate from competent authority in case of physically and visually challenged students in the prescribed format (As per GOI)
- A Self-Appraisal form.
- Study certificate form. (to be obtained from your Principal/Head of the Institution where you are currently pursuing your studies)
- Teacher Recommendation Form (in a sealed envelope) Letter to the teacher.
